Woodbridge, VA – Today, Delegate Luke Torian is formally announcing the launch of his campaign for re-election to the Virginia House of Delegates for the 24th District. He is joined by local, state, and federal elected officials who proudly support the delegate’s re-election.

Delegate Torian was first elected to the House of Delegates in 2009 and has since been re-elected six times. He is a husband, father, pastor, and community leader who has proudly represented and fought for the people of the 52nd District. He and his family moved to Prince William County in 1995 and have since become vital members of their community.

“I want to thank each of you for your continued support that allows me to serve as your delegate,” said Delegate Torian. “I am grateful to represent the interests of residents in Prince William County and the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and I look forward to continuing the efforts in the new 24th district.”

Delegate Torian was the first African American to chair Virginia’s House Appropriations Committee. He led the state budget’s development with an emphasis on accessible higher education and responsible economic development. In addition to serving on the Appropriations Committee, Delegate Torian serves on the General Laws Committees.

“I am proud to stand with Luke as he announces his re-election to the House of Delegates,” said Senator Mark Warner. “Since his first day in office, Luke has worked tirelessly to pass legislation that has brought jobs and prosperity to Prince William County.”

Since being elected to the General Assembly, Delegate Torian has successfully passed over 50 bills and resolutions, including legislation to: improve public education, reform policing, promote security in retirement, help veterans and their dependents, and end surprise medical billing.

The 24th House District was created last year through the redistricting process that occurs every ten years. The new district is comprised of portions of the current 31st and 52nd House Districts. It includes portions of Prince William County, west of Interstate 95, such as Dale City, Montclair, and Woodhaven.
