From celebrating the launch of the Northern Virginia Community College’s new Data Center Operations program to gathering at the Prince William County Community Fair and honoring the lives lost during the September 11th attacks, there are many opportunities this month to come together.
NVCC Ribbon Cutting
Friday, September 5th, Northern Virginia Community College held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new Data Center Operations program facility in Woodbridge. This state-of-the-art center will provide students with hands-on training in one of Virginia’s fastest-growing industries, helping to prepare a skilled workforce to meet the needs of our region’s expanding technology sector. It was inspiring to see the investment in education and workforce development that will benefit both students and local employers for years to come.

Prince William County Community Fair
The Prince William County Police Department will host its 5th Annual Community Fair on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sean Connaughton Plaza, located at 1 County Complex Court in Woodbridge, VA. This vibrant community event celebrates the county’s diversity and promotes unity through interactive displays from multiple public safety agencies and county government departments, along with live music, food trucks, pet adoptions, and fun activities, such as a dunk tank.

Social Media Check Fraud
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has issued a warning about a dangerous social media scam. This scam has followed a trend of these three illegal steps:
- Writing a check for more money than you have in your account.
- Depositing the check into a different account.
- Withdrawing funds from the original account before the “bad check” clears.
Bank Fraud can leave you responsible for repaying the money, cause loss of access to banking services, and result in serious legal consequences.

Early Voting
Virginia’s voting season starts on September 19th, and we have several essential races on our ballot this year, including Virginia’s next Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and all 100 members of the House of Delegates. The Office of Elections, located at 9250 Lee Avenue in Manassas, VA, is an early voting location starting 45 days prior to the election. Satellite locations for early voting both in number, location, and hours for each election, as specified by local ordinance.
Prince William County residents may cast their vote early Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (and 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays).
Select early voting weekend dates include, Saturdays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm on October 25th & November 1st, and Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 PM on October 19th at any of the below locations:

For the 45 days preceding all elections, voters can cast their ballots at any early voting location during its regular hours. Early voting is generally available during the week and open on the two Saturdays immediately preceding Election Day. Drop Boxes are also available at all Early Voting sites during voting hours. The last day of early voting is the Saturday before Election Day.
Early voting requires that a voter show an acceptable form of ID.
Curbside Voting: Available for seniors and voters with disabilities at all in-person voting locations in designated parking spaces. Drive-thru voting is not available.
