As the crisp autumn air settles in, October brings a renewed sense of energy and community to Prince William County. This month, we’re focusing on local events, seasonal activities, and the latest updates on key legislation affecting our area. This month’s newsletter includes essential information that will help you stay engaged and informed throughout the fall season.
Early Voting
There are still many opportunities to vote before election day! To find out who is on your ballot this election season, please click here.
The Office of Elections, located at 9250 Lee Ave, Suite #1, Manassas, VA 20110, is currently open for early voting through November 2nd.
Prince William County residents may cast their vote early Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (and 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays).
The Following Early Voting Locations will open starting Sunday, October 13th, through Saturday, November 2nd:
- DMV Woodbridge, 2731 Caton Hill Rd, Woodbridge, VA 22191
- Haymarket Gainesville Library, 14870 Lightner Rd, Haymarket, VA 20169
- Brentsville Courthouse, 12229 Bristow Rd, Bristow, VA 20136
- Dumfries Community Center, 17755 Main Street, Dumfries, VA 22026
- Ferlazzo Building, 15941 Donald Curtis Drive, Woodbridge, VA 22191
Select early voting weekend dates include, Saturdays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm on October 19th, October 26th & November 2nd, and Sundays from 11:00 am to 5:00 PM on October 13th & October 20th at any of the locations listed above.
Curbside voting is available for seniors and voters with disabilities at all in-person voting locations in designated parking spaces. Drive-thru voting is not available.

Vehicle Personal Property Tax Extension
During the Prince William County Board of Supervisors meeting last Thursday, they voted to extend the deadline for the county’s vehicle personal property tax to Thursday, December 5th, 2024 from the previous October 7th, 2024 deadline.
The county still encourages residents to pay taxes prior to the deadline. You may pay online, by mail, over the phone, or in person at the Taxpayer Services office. More information about how to make tax payments is available here.

Fall Festival: 50th Anniversary Celebration
Join your friends and neighbors for Prince William County’s Fall Festival on October 19th, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. There will be programs and fun activities for all ages, including food trucks, STEAM projects, musical instrument demonstrations, giveaways, and more. This event will also be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Pat White Center. For more information on the festival and the center, please click here.
Halloween Trunk or Treats
Trunk or Treating is an alternative to the door-to-door “trick-or-treating” Halloween tradition. People gather in a designated area with their car trunks festively decorated for Halloween to pass out candy to trunk-or-treaters in a convenient and safe location hosted by schools or community groups.
This October, Prince William County has many Trunk-or-Treat events available throughout the county. If you are interested in joining in on the Halloween fun, check out the following Trunk-or-Treat events:
- Madison Crescent’s “Fall Festival & Trunk or Treat” is on Saturday, October 12th, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Please click here.
- Prince William Chamber of Commerce and Prince William County Police’s “Manassas Mall Trunk or Treat” on Saturday, October 26th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Please click here.
- Virginia State Police, Prince William County Police, and other law enforcement agencies’ joint “Prince William County Trunk or Treat” on Tuesday, October 29th, from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Please click here.
Flu and COVID-19 Vaccines
Now is the time to set up your appointments to receive your flu and COVID-19 vaccines at your local pharmacy or doctor’s office. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that people ages 6 months and older get a flu vaccine by the end of October. Even if you wait until after October, the vaccine will still be beneficial and provide protection. For more information on the CDC’s flu vaccine recommendations, visit this CDC page.
The CDC also recommends scheduling your COVID-19 vaccines during the fall or even getting both your flu and COVID-19 shots at the same time. Some viruses, like COVID-19, can change over time. Getting a vaccine that targets those viruses may be updated to better protect against disease. An updated COVID-19 vaccine will help give you the best protection against COVID-19. House and Senate Page Program
The Virginia House of Delegates 2025 Page Program is still accepting applicants! This experience offers a fun and dynamic way for students to participate in the legislative process with hands-on experience like staffing committee meetings, interacting with state legislators, and drafting their own bills for a mock trial with their peers. Students in the page program will develop various essential skills while fostering long-lasting relationships with other civic-minded peers.
